Daily Feast – January 21

Why Your Destiny Becomes Your Decision

I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” -Deuteronomy 30: 19-20

Many times, in our lives we play religion by saying that God is in control and then attribute failure to Him. But there is no failure in God. God will not change what He has said because the God we serve is a consistent and able God. God spoke to Jonah after he had been persuaded and his persuasion came after his travail in the belly of the fish (Jonah 3: 1). You can carry the grace of God and be defeated because you are not persuaded. The bolder you are the more it works. You can only persuade others after you have been persuaded.

God wants to make a way and wants your success. All you must do is agree with Him. Below are some tips of secrets to success.

I. Something supernatural happens when you believe the man sent by God. When Jonah was persuaded and preached the word to the people of Nineveh, the mercy of God was extended to them because they heard and hearkened to Jonah who was sent by God to change their ways

II. Your success will depend on your ability to recognize the man of God when you are in His presence. These are men who know what they are doing and where they are going (Jeremiah 3: 15). Your ability to trust the word of God in his mouth will make a difference between success and failure in your life (11 Chronicle 20: 20). When a man refuses to accept an instruction through someone God sent, he loses every promise and reward God has intended for him.

III. You have to be poor in spirit (Isaiah 66: 2). A poor man is looking for a solution. He is not in place of self-confidence and not wanting to improve. He is looking to know more of God and praying more to seek Him.

Nothing evil can happen to you if you change positively. Nineveh responded by repenting and turning from their wickedness. So, the justice of God compelled him to also stayed his divine judgment on that great city. Incidentally, Jonah who found mercy did not want God to show mercy. We often judge others by their action while judging ourselves by our good intentions.

Prayer: I choose to succeed against all odds in Jesus name. Lord, you are my portion in the land of the living; Amen, thank you, Jesus.
