DAY 1 PM : Understanding the favour of God- Rev Francis falola

Favor is God’s divine provision through the finished work of Jesus Christ, granting believers an unearned advantage, victory over adversity, and life-changing breakthrough.

1. What is Favor: Four Definitions

Favor is first defined as something granted out of goodwill, rooted in the suffering and wounds of Jesus Christ on the cross. Second, favor is a gift bestowed as a token of regard, love, or friendliness, given as a mark of divine relationship. Third, favor is preferential treatment, just as Esther was chosen above all other virgins not merely by beauty, but by divine favor. Fourth, favor is an advantage, bringing divine grace, kindness, and graciousness that turns your efforts into working results where others fail.

“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”

— Isaiah 53:4–5

“So shall thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.”

— Proverbs 3:4

2. Divine Favor: Grace and Spiritual Blessing

Grace is the Hebrew word chen, which literally translates as divine favor, kindness, and spiritual blessing bestowed upon the church. Apostle Paul repeatedly declared this favor over believers to make the path of life easy and to accomplish massive projects beyond human capacity. When you walk in divine favor, God provides what you lack and takes you to levels you cannot reach naturally.

“…set your hope fully and unchangeably on the grace (divine favor) that is coming to you when Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is revealed.”

— 1 Peter 1:13

3. Victory Over Adversity: God Fights Your Battles

The favor of the Lord gives believers authority and total victory over every opponent, witch, or evil family. Enemies may bring court cases, send physical threats, or deploy spiritual missiles like thunder, but God silences them, terminates their lives, and turns every battle in your favor.

“The grace (spiritual favor, blessing) of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Anointed One, the Messiah) be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.”

— Galatians 6:18

Call to Action

  • Declare and pray for divine favor over your life, work, and projects every single day.
  • Release all human worry, stop relying on certificates or physical strength alone, and trust God’s favor to fight your battles.
  • Step out boldly to do what you could not do before, expecting divine health, open doors, and total victory over every opposition.

Questions for Meditation and Pondering

  1. In what areas of my life am I still relying on my own human effort instead of trusting in the divine favor of God
  2. How can I actively confess and declare God’s favor over my workplace, family, and daily interactions with men?
  3. What fear or opposition do I need to hand over to God today, knowing His favor brings complete victory over my enemies?
