Understand the Father’s Love (4)

While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease- Genesis 8:22

(3) Understand the Law of Timing.

Many times, we are in a hurry; we often want things to happen instantly. The God of Heaven and earth did the work of creation in the first twenty-six verses of Genesis one; God declared ‘let there be’ several times. If I were God, I would have finished creating all things in a day. But God did it for six days, and each day, He learned to rejoice even when He had not finished. Many times, people do not rejoice because they do not see the reason to rejoice and because they are too high-minded. They are not satisfied with whatever happens; nothing makes them rejoice. You must learn to rejoice in the process of God making you. There was a healing minister who once said he had found out by experience that even instantaneous healing can become a curse to some people because if they get instant miracle, they may lose it on the long run because they never knew the reason behind the miracle they had. While many want an instant miracle, God is more interested in making you. God is more of a Maker than He is a Giver. God wants you to be under divine supervision; to learn of Him so that you can retain whatever He gives you. There is no security outside God, so love Him no matter how much He lifts you. In the story, Jesus waited for two days after He got the message that Lazarus was sick.

When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was - John11:6

Jesus waited for the marching order of the Father whose will become his will through the act of total surrender. Many times, we do not understand purpose, so we are frustrated, thinking God is too late. At those times, the enemy puts you under pressure so you can take a false step; knowing that going back becomes difficult once you take a false step. Many often muddle up God's plan because they have not waited long enough. Many have acted today while God promise to come tomorrow. Many have missed divine blessing because they were not patient enough for God. Things are gradual. When God tells you about your future, He tells you the totality of what He will do. If you believe in God, you will not be in haste. He that believeth shall not make haste. (Isaiah 28:16b)

Learn to appreciate God in the process of making you. Why did Jesus wait for two days when He was told His closest friend was dying? It is because Jesus knew the law of timing. Jesus knew that the glory of raising a dead Lazarus would be more than healing a sick Lazarus. So, Jesus waited for the appropriate time. You must understand that in the love of the Father, time is important. Sometimes people wonder if God does not know that time is going. If there is no lesson for you to learn on the road God is taking you through, He wouldn't bother to waste your time.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness...” - 2Peter 3: 9a

God is not slow as men think He is. He may be patient with us, but certainly, He is not slow. God has a perfect timing for everything, and you can be sure His time is always right. Often, we mess up many things because we act at the wrong time, but His time can never be wrong. By the time He came to the scene, God took the glory. May God take glory in your life in Jesus name.

Jesus understood divine timing, and He waited for two days before He left for Bethany, 18 miles journey. When Jesus raised Lazarus back to life, He got the attention of everyone in Jerusalem to a level that the Pharisees were confused, perplexed, and frustrated.
