Daily Feast – November 5

Endure Hardship as a Good Soldier of Christ

And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us- Romans 5:3-5

We are to persevere the present time. The time is a difficult time for believers; lawlessness pervades almost every sector, there is evil on earth but thank God in the midst of it all, the light of God in us can shine. No matter how thick darkness can be it cannot overtake light. So, there is a need to follow through and endure difficult times. What makes us mature is what we go through, after all, there is no champion without a fight. The world may be under the sway of the wicked, but we are of God. Jesus knew the world is wicked and so, He gave a very useful admonition:” But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved”.

If there is no need for endurance, Jesus would not have asked us to endure. You don't endure good things; only bad things are to be endured. Men can change their mind about you when you are in crisis, but not so with God. As a believer, you need to endure how you are often misunderstood, the ingratitude of men, betrayal of those you trust etc. These are things to endure. Being a child of God does not mean you will not encounter certain challenges. No matter how insurmountable the obstacle may look before you, if you will do your best to give life a push, you will make headway. Life requires 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration. Many talented men ended up being a nobody because of their indolence/laziness, because they couldn't give life a fight.

Enduring difficult times is easier when there is a reward in view. Some endure for some time but after a while, they cannot take it again. Beloved, you can take anything when you know where you are going.

Prayer: By the grace of God I maintain an attitude of consecration and surrender to the Lord’s will, whatever it might be in Jesus Name
