God Cares (5): Shut your mouth
If you have been foolish in exalting yourself, Or if you have devised evil, put your hand on your mouth- Proverbs 30:32
The scripture we read today is saying you should shut your mouth up when a wrong thought comes to you. Do not express any negative thought. If you refuse to say it, the devil will not have power to attack you.
The devil does not know everything about you, if he does, he would have revealed the dream of Nebuchadnezzar to the magicians. So, the devil does not know what you are thinking. He only programs men based on what they say. So, for you not to fall prey into the hand of the devil, it is better you watch what you say. Meditate and think on God's word, replace the wrong thoughts with God's word. No matter how strong the thought may be, it cannot destroy your life as long as you do not express it. It is my prayer that you will know this God that cares.
Words create things; words made this whole world and all that is in it and words are the foundations of whatever will happen to us. It is only man that God made with His hands to convey and allow intimacy. God used His hands to make man and breathe into man. He did this because He wanted fellowship.
If you do not know what to say when facing an untoward situation in life, then it is safe to keep quiet! Can you imagine what the disciples said to Jesus? Are you also in the middle of an issue and you do not know exactly how things will eventually play out? If you don't know how to speak the right words, then start praising God. Words are the foundation of all that happens to us. See the reply of Jesus in Mark 11:23-24:
In the book of Numbers, Caleb and Joshua said, "we are able", God supported them and they got what they said. The other ten spies said, "we can't" and they also got what they said; they died and so were not able to get to the promise land. The devil still uses the same old tactics; it has not changed. He tries to use our words to defeat us. Be very careful of your words so as not to allow the devil to use your word to defeat you.
Prayer: O Lord, let the word of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight in Jesus Christ name.
