Moving From Rejection To Dominion (II)

Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valor, but he was the son of a harlot; and Gilead begot Jephthah... So Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead, “Did you not hate me, and expel me from my father’s house? Why have you come to me now when you are in distress?”...Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and commander over them; and Jephthah spoke all his words before the Lord in Mizpah.-Judges 11:1-11

Everyone in life tries to run from problem. Whereas, the problem or the challenges we have gone through, most of the time made us to be whom and what we are today. Challenges of life are real. Quitters never win and winners never quit. Brethren, tough times never last but tough people do. Jephthah, having left the hostile environment of his father’s house, and having been made in the crucible of affliction and pains had become to toughened and perfected for warfare. The elders of Israel heard about his fame and sent for him. That is the reason it is not wise trying to prove your relevance in life. Determine to succeed. Success is not easy to be overlooked and if you are patient with life (Heb.12:2) and you are diligent, success is inevitable, and you will stand before kings in Jesus name.

Jephthah went to see the elders of Israel when they sought for his assistance to fight their battles. May God open your eyes to recognize divine opportunities. Jephthah, who knew that they wanted to ‘use’ him rebuked the elders for casting him out of his family. He did not overlook it. You will never get people to repent if you keep unchallenging their evil in a relationship. You should always forgive and forget as you will never get a wound healed if you keep opening the wound to those who comes across your way.

But it was different in the case of Jephthah because the elders of Israel wanted a friendship and assistance from him and until he settled the issue of the past, it would be foolish for him to commit himself to them. There is no commitment without trust and many today are vulnerable to attacks because they believe all people are important to them. Know this, every human being is important to God but not everyone is important to your life. May God help you to be sensitive and wise in the issues of life.

Jephthah gave them his terms and conditions, refused to be used and thereafter be abandoned. He was wise to let them know that if he must lead them in time of war; they must accept his leadership over them in time of peace and comfort. They (leaders) agreed, and he eventually became head and captain over them. He (Jephthah) moved from rejection to leadership. God honoured his faith and promoted him. If you will not give up on your life, you will be amazed how God will turn your life around. See you at the top in Jesus Name.
