Daily Feast – January 9

Defining Your Pursuit.

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. -Philippians 3:13-14

What is my pursuit? Pursuit means what you are after! What you want to do, what you want to become. Any man or woman who will succeed in life must be able to define where he or she is at particular instance in life. If you cannot define where you are in pursuit, it is likely you do not understand your assignment very well. That individual is lost in God’s plan. God asked Adam, where are you? He was saying, where is Adam in his plan? What are you pursuing? Where is the goal you set ahead that you want to reach?

Goal setting is not bad. Having a desire is not against the word and the will of God. What you need to do is to commit whatever is your goal or desire unto God who knows all things.  Life is about running a race and winning. Jesus came and He won his race. Apostle Paul ran and won successfully. Do not say I just want to participate and just be in the number. No! Participate to be a winner. Your level today is the worst level you can ever be. Because the path of a just is like a shining light.

Life requires pursuit, do not stay in old glory. It is folly to dwell in the good old days as some pride themselves. Thank God and move forward. Do not plan to die, plan your life as if you are going to live forever as an eternal being. To plan as if you are going to live forever makes you aim at possibilities. For you know it will not end on earth. As I often say live as if you will die tomorrow but plan as if you will never die. Such a mind produces holiness and success.

There are possibilities ahead of you. Think outside the box, Jesus had a goal. Hebrews 12:1-2

Prayer: Father I receive your grace, to be all out in the pursuit of your plan and purpose for my life. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
