When God’s Standard Is Brought Low
But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.- 2 Peter 2:1-3
The spirit of lawlessness and falsehood today is an attack against the power of God in the Church. Most ministries that peddle falsehood today were not false at the beginning. The spirit of greed and covetousness today have crept into many places. When God’s standard is brought low to accommodate more people, it is not a revival but a compromise and corruption.
Have you heard of damnable heresies? They are plenty. These are heresies that will send the hearers to hell. The Bible clearly defines the curse of the law as stated in the twenty-eight chapter of Deuteronomy:
Cursed in the city, Cursed in the field, Cursed in the store and in the basket, The land and the children are cursed, Rebuke, pestilence and complete Destruction, Oppression, Powerlessness and Captivity, Disappointment, Blindness, Plagues, Madness, Boils and Itch etc.
The summary of it is that curses of the law fall under three sub divisions. They are: Poverty, Sickness & Disease and Spiritual Death.
But the Lord gave Israel a choice. A choice is still open to all of us today and our decision to obey or disobey the Lord and his plans for our lives open us to these roads. In the twenty-eight chapter of Deuteronomy, we also find the blessings of Abraham.
Blessed in the city, and the field, Children, land and livestock are blessed, Blessed in storehouses, blessed going out and coming in, People of the earth are afraid of you, You are called by the Name of the Lord, You will be the head and above only, Your financial situation turns around.
You begin to partake in these blessings of God as you get saved. Stay saved, and as you walk in fellowship with God and in the light of the revelation of the word you have. That is the reason you can’t afford to compare yourselves with another Christian in your walk of faith.
Prayer: I am the seed of Abraham by faith. I am not under the curse. I am under the blessing, amen.
