Daily Feast – April 23

The Father’s Love And Care (I)

On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”- Mark 4:35

In these scriptures, Jesus spoke only eight words and it was settled. But the disciples of Jesus interpreted the words of Jesus differently, depending on their faith levels. To some, Jesus meant, “Let us pass over unto the other side to do ministry and succeed”, while some heard, “Let us pass over unto the other side to die”.

Beloved, whatever you perceive as God’s intention for your life is a product of your choice which is birthed in what you see or hear. That is why you must be careful about what you hear. The information you are exposed to should build strength and courage in you, not fear. The fact that you are experiencing some problems and difficulties does not mean that God does not care. Never doubt God’s love for you even though things may seem to be working contrary to what God has said concerning you. Even at a time like this in our nation, God has not lost His control in your life. It is my prayer that you will hold unto the word of God.

The words, ‘let us go on to the other side’ were words in the mind of God; that was why Jesus could sleep in the presence of the storm. Jesus was able to sleep in the midst of the storm because He had already echoed what the Holy Spirit said. The disciples were experienced fishermen who knew how to fish; they did all they could to stop the storm, but their best did not yield any positive result. In the long run, what happened? They had to call on Jesus and woke Him up. Beloved, when you don’t know what to do, you must know where to go. Little wonder, that song says ……Unto Jesus I surrender, unto Him I freely give…….  Take it to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

Prayer: Lord, I’m so glad that I now know where to go whenever I’m confronted with storms of life. Thank you father in Jesus name, amen.
