Recognizing Your Power As A Believer

Now Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “Choose one bull for yourselves and prepare it first, for you are many; and call on the name of your god, but put no fire under it.” So they took the bull which was given them, and they prepared it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even till noon, saying, “O Baal, hear us!” But there was no voice; no one answered. Then they leaped about the altar which they had made. And so it was, at noon, that Elijah mocked them and said, “Cry aloud, for he is a god; either he is meditating, or he is busy, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is sleeping and must be awakened.” So they cried aloud, and cut themselves, as was their custom, with knives and lances, until the blood gushed out on them. And when midday was past, they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice. But there was no voice; no one answered, no one paid attention. - 1 Kings 18:25-29

God is the creator of this world, but He has given the authority to rule this world to the sons of men. God has so much endowed the natural man with intelligence and ingenuity, such that there have been several inventions from men. And if you are a believer, you have added advantages: God has put something in every believer what it takes to change their world –Faith.

In the Bible days, Baal is known as the god that brings fire down, but on the day the prophet of Baal had a clash with Elijah, the power of Baal failed even though the worshipers of Baal did all they could do to bring fire down. As usual, their god failed them because the God of all gods was on the scene. As a believer, you have what it takes to bring down the power of God like Elijah if only you believe and activates your faith by speaking to your situation (Mk.11:23). You are bound to have testimonies in your life.

Many believers have failed to activate their faith by confessing what the word of God says to their lives and situations because of fear (2 Tim 1:7). The bolder you are in speaking the word of God to your situation the more it works. So, use your faith by confessing your belief to get the promises of God manifested in your life as a believer. (Pro.18:21).

1 kings18:33 states; “And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the Prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel and that I am thy servant and that I have done all these things at thy word”. At the word spoken by Elijah, the fire of the Lord fell and consumed the burnt sacrifice and God was glorified. That was the miracle the God of Elijah performed in a split of a second. Yet, the Bible says Elijah was a man like you. He was not born again filled with Holy Ghost like you believers of the New Testament.

As a New Testament believer, you have what it takes to bring down the power of God if only you would activate your faith by confessing the word of God boldly to your situation. You shall surely see the glory of God.

Prayer: O Lord God, I believe your word can be as powerful in my mouth as it is in your mouth. Therefore, I decree, that the counsel of God be established in every sphere of my life in Jesus Name.
