How Obedient are you to the Ways of God?
But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.- Numbers 14:24
God’s favour does not depend on your call or anointing just like in the life of Caleb, he was chosen by a man to represent a tribe. He did not play a conspicuous role but he knew how to follow. He was firm, loyal and true to God. Although Some people will say you are hard when you are firm. You will not go far with God if you are not firm. Remember Reuben, he lost his potential to inherit the double portion because of lack of discipline.
I employ us not to walk out into death and wickedness. Know that the devil is happy when you fail God. Don't let the world want you and not God. Don't oversimplify obedience as Aaron who oversimplified what he did because how can a golden calf come out of a fire without hammering gold? Aaron hated troubles and ran from trouble to give them what they wanted but it is the trouble that made all of us. When God sets boundaries for us, it is because he loves us not to destroy us. Don't give the devil room to rejoice over you. When they were bowing down to the golden calf, the devil was rejoicing.
Beloved, when we follow God, the pain of today becomes the gain of tomorrow. Sometimes, standing for God looks painful. For instance, when God told Abraham to let Ishmael go, it was not easy for him to do but he obeyed and always remember that in addition to knowing His ways, we will walk in His favour. This favour of God will not only work for you, but it will work for your children. Therefore don't do selective obedience, but obey God fully that your ways must become His ways and favour shall be continuous in your life.
Prayer: I delight myself in the Lord and he gives me the desires of my heart. I trust in the Lord with all my heart and I lean not unto my own understanding. In all my ways, I acknowledge him and he directs my path. The Lord perfect that which concerns me in Jesus Name.
Christ is made unto me wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption; therefore I confess I have the wisdom of God.
