Daily Feast – December 25

Be disciplined

Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. - 1 Corinthians 9:26-27

Excellence is not possible without faithfulness, diligence and commitment. No one can trust somebody unless that person shows level of commitment. You don't claim trust, you earn trust. Be committed, be faithful. God blesses the faithful. Distinction in your life is a product of devotion. Be faithful, be disciplined.

In Genesis 26, Isaac experienced famine in the land he dwelt. He could have jumped out of the land but God told him to stay in the land and God promised He would bless him.

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year a hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great: - Genesis 26:12-13

This is what we called hundred-fold blessings but do you know the land was hard? Do you know that the land had famine? Do you know that there was no rain in that land? Yet Isaac planted, he was disciplined and hardworking. There is nothing easy on earth. It is possible but it is not easy. Distinction is a product of devotion. Some people are jumping from one place to another. They cannot stay on a job. They are jumping around until they get old. Do you know why? They are simply not disciplined.

Apostle Paul said,But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. - 1 Corinthians 9:27

Be disciplined in your life so as not to damage your reputation. Don't let people have impression that you are fake; that you are not what you are claiming to be. Be disciplined; don't give to your body everything it desires. Tell your body that it must obey you, that you must live right. In your word, in your eating, in your behaviour, in your lifestyle, be disciplined.

Prayer: I remind myself that God is with me and that nothing can defeat me in Jesus Name. Lord keep me safely through the journey of life and let the evil plans of the enemies turn against them in Jesus Name.
