Do Not Reverse The Order
However, the report went around concerning Him all the more; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. - Luke 5:15
And He came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of His disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases. - Luke 6:17
It is true that things in this world are dynamic, hence subject to changes from time to time. This assertion is not true when it comes to the kingdom of God and our creator Himself. This truth came to the forefront on many occasions in the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour in Luke 5:15.
Many people today want to bring the mentality of this world into the things of God, and by extension the kingdom of God is not ruled by earthly principles. People are trooping into the churches and worship centres day in day out without realizing their dreams and having answer to their prayers, because the order of receiving things from God had been altered.
I want you to see the order in the scripture. They came to hear Him and be healed. The situation is quite different now as we see people come to church with the desire to be healed first before they would hear the preacher. That is why we have so many worship centres with little or no preaching/ teaching and many hours of praying for miracles and deliverance. The congregation now put pressure on the immature but anointed ministers who today introduce many gimmicks, so as to keep the crowd.
Learn to study the Bible and like Jesus make preaching or teaching your number one priority. It is because miracle does not establish saints. Miracle compels attention but it is the word of God that establishes the faith of the hearers. In addition, it is your faith in God’s word that keeps everything that you receive in the kingdom. Thus, it is expedient that you make your faith grow through constant meditation in God’s word.
Prayer: Lord, let your word dwell richly in me in all wisdom understanding in Jesus Name Amen.
