Daily Feast – July 24

Bold As A Lion

The wicked flee when no one pursues, But the righteous are bold as a lion. - Proverbs 28:1

The Bible says, “The righteous are bold as a lion” You can’t truly be a lion and be afraid. Beloved, it is natural for a lion to beget a lion. Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah is your savior, therefore, you can’t just be a goat or a chicken. Basically, there are two types of boldness.

1.) Boldness of knowledge
2.) Boldness of Ignorance

When you see a crawling innocent child playing with a snake it looks like boldness, but that child is actually doing it in ignorance because the snake is poisonous and can be harmful. But for a snake charmer who knows how to tame snakes, you can say, he is bold due to knowledge. There are people in the world that appear bold but are foolish, and sadly, many of such people have gone to heaven before their time. Your boldness must come from a background of knowledge. For instance, if you are ignorant about electricity, you can’t just play with electricity otherwise it will shock you or even kill you. You can’t dare move near the National Power Grid cable at Kanji, to do so is suicidal. It can burn a person to ashes. So the more knowledge you have, the more careful you become.

In Numbers 15:30, God warns us to avoid being presumptuous. When you are bold without the requisite knowledge, you become presumptuous. The Lord expects us to be bold, but not without knowledge. Though boldness is absolutely necessary for success in life, but such boldness be borne out of truth and sanity, not boldness of folly. In Number 15:32-36, a man was sentenced to death because he acted presumptuously but God saw the arrogance of his heart coupled with stupid boldness. I pray you will not dare God but will follow Him wholeheartedly and do His will.

Prayer: Father, I declare, I’m a son of the Lion of the tribe of Judah, l’m bold as a Lion in Jesus name, amen.
