Seek God’s Blessing (2)
The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it- Proverbs 10:22
The blessing does not only produce riches, but it also has no sorrow with it. That is a major difference between what the world has to offer and God's gift. The devil is a deceiver; he wanted to entice Jesus with the riches of this world.
And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore will worship me, all shall be thine. - Luke 4:6-7
It is true the glory of this world had been delivered to the devil but who delivered it unto him? Is it God? Never! It would be unjust for God to give the devil power to afflict His sons. Which father will give the enemy power to afflict his own son? God initially gave the power to Adam but out of ignorance, Adam delivered the power to the serpent in the Garden of Eden. The devil thought every man has a price and he thought he could entice Jesus. This is still the same way the devil tries to entice people; especially those who want power or wealth by all means.
Power or wealth is what many people are promised in the world that makes them bow down to Lucifer, the god of this world. And they usually continue in this deception until they find out that the devil is a big liar. Thank God because though the first Adam fell, the second one did not. Jesus did not fall for the deception of the devil. If the devil knows 'it is written', you must also know 'it is also written'.
You need not converse with the devil because he is a liar; he will always tell lies to keep wasting your time and keep you from knowing the truth. No wonder Jesus our Lord called him the father of all lies and that there is no truth in him; may you not fall for the lie of the enemy. Beware not to heed to the enemy of your soul thinking he means well for you. Do not serve a liar because of his promise; Do not trust a liar any day. If he was a liar yesterday, you can be sure he will always be a liar any day.
The devil knows that when you are blessed and it has no sorrow, others will be attracted to your blessing. That is why the devil is keen at polluting the blessing of believers such that it won’t be attractive to others. The devil is an accuser of the brethren; no wonder he accused Job before God.
And Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast thou not made an hedge about him, and about his house…But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse thee to thy face. - Job 1:9-11
Job came under attack because he opened himself to fear. But on the long run; when God turned things around for Job, his story changed. Whatever you have gone through, know that trouble will not last forever. Every trouble will expire, and God will change your story in Jesus name, Amen.
Prayer: I take authority over the spirit of fear, I receive the spirit of power, love and sound mind. Lord I receive the grace not to fall for the devil’s deception, I will seek after God and his blessings only.
