The Power of Praise and Worship
I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. When my enemies turn back, They shall fall and perish at Your presence.- Psalms 9:1-3
Praise and worship are a subtle weapon in silencing your enemy. It must be done with your whole heart. It is possible to flatter a man with your mouth without it getting to your heart. The praise that will compel God to action is the praise that comes from the depth of the heart. God does not want hypocrisy around His throne. Incidentally, we assume that if we can sing many songs, God will accept our praises. But God does not look at our eloquence, he looks at our heart. Our heart is the center of our life.
Beloved, God wants your heart to be involved in whatsoever you are doing. Even, salvation is not obtained unless it comes from the heart, for out of the heart flows the issues of life. A man can rattle with his mouth and confess that Jesus is Lord like a parrot but mentally assenting is not salvation. Salvation comes from the heart. If confession comes from the heart, it will surely affect your life positively and nothing serious comes out of our life unless it comes from our heart. For instance, looking at the example of Samson, Delilah so much stressed him until he spoke all his heart. And Delilah went to hint the philistines. Beloved, we must tell God in praises what He has done in our lives.
Praises invoke the presence of God and God cannot be involved in your life and the enemy raises his ugly head. Let us approach the Lord with a deep appreciation of who he is. God is all that matters in our life and your duty to God is to first praise him before asking for anything. Thanksgiving means thanks accompanied by giving. Therefore whenever you appreciate God for His goodness, let it touch your pocket. It is not thanksgiving when it's not touching your pocket. This is the reason why been thankful and thanksgiving are not the same. To be thankful is to be full of thanks.
Prayer: : In the Name of Jesus, teach me to practice and experience the power of your presence through praise and worship.
