Daily Feast – September 30

The Sovereignty of God

And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. - Daniel 2:21

As believers, the reason why we worship God is that He made all things, but nobody made Him. Nothing in this world happens by random chance, nor has God left us to our own devices to get on with life independently of him.

We can rest in this magnificent truth that the government is indeed upon the shoulders of the Lord. And as the sovereign King, God created us to serve His interest and He has a right over our lives. Always remember that no one can do without God because our existence depends on Him, but God's existence does not depend on anyone. God does not even require our approval to make any decision.

He made all things, but nobody made Him. As the sovereign King, He is never helpless, never frustrated, never at a loss. And in Christ, God’s awesome sovereign providence is the place we feel most reverent, most secure and most free. Therefore, nothing can stop God from doing his will. God is not limited by anything outside of himself, nor can anything thwart his will, whether it be human sinfulness, rebellion or lack of faith, or even demonic schemes. Our God does what he pleases and will always bring his purposes to pass, simply because he is God!

Have you ever wondered where God was before He made heaven and earth? If I can know where God stood, then it means that where He stood must be older than Him. Where was He before He made anything? Nothing is greater than God; nothing exists before He created everything; all things that were created came out of Him and through Him, all things came to be.

Many have only mentally agreed that Jesus is Lord, but they are yet to commit themselves to follow Him. I charge you to accept Him wholly as your Lord and saviour today if you have not.

Prayer: Father, thank you for the salvation of my soul. When I made Jesus the Lord of my life, my sin nature died, and a righteous nature was born in me, so sin no longer had dominion over me. Thank you, father, for taking care of my sin problem forever. Satan, you have no authority over me as I refuse to give it to you in Jesus Name
