MARK 11:23-24
The Lord wants me to speak on the lines of faith. May God bring us into a place of rest of faith. There is a big difference between saying that you have faith and having it. God wants to impart to us a faith that can laugh at impossibilities and rest in peace. There is no other faith which appropriates that which God has for us.
The greatest sin in all the world is “unbelief.” It will shut everything out from you; it will hinder your progress, and blight the prospects of your life. It will shut heaven and open hell; but if you believe God your faith will shut hell and open heaven. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
God’s work is a perfect plan. There is no such thing as reading the Word of God and remaining ordinary after it. It is the power of God; the Christ of God; the revelation of God; It is God! God manifested in the flesh.
The Word which was made flesh and was breathed through this flesh was the Word of God—the power and personality of God—God incarnated! It is impossible for you to have a refusal from God if you believe Him.
O the times that I have proved this in my life—that God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. It is impossible to have faith without peace. There are nine gifts of the Spirit and nine fruits, and the third gift is the gift of faith, and the third fruit is peace, and it is impossible to have faith without peace, and I want to say that it is not howling and screaming and rolling on the floor; it is not making a lot of to-do; it is simply God manifested in the flesh through a faith which rests upon the omnipotent Word of God.
O this blessed incarnation of the Spirit through the Word of God.
What does faith really mean? One thing God has shown me through the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. It is 2 Cor. 13: 3-5. I want you to understand there is a personal manifestation of power by the Holy Ghost which absolutely changes us into the order of God. “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the Communion of the Holy Ghost be with you.”
O that Communion of the Holy Ghost! I feel to-night, as I speak to you: O that men that are saved would yield themselves for the cleansing power of the blood till they could be filled with the Holy Ghost; and then, by the communication of the Holy Spirit, He would speak to you—would converse with you. He would direct you and give you the word of wisdom, and the time would come that you would know that you were in a new plan, where God was working the oracles and not you.
There is One greater than all; His Name is Jesus! And Jesus wants us to know that by the power of the Spirit that you can be filled with the presence of God, arid God wants you to know that His Name never faileth. God said, concerning Him: “He (Jesus) was manifested to destroy the works of the devil.”
O, I do thank God for the extremity of humanity, which is God’s opportunity, and if you have come to a place where you know there is no help in yourself, then He is able, O, it is true! When we come to a place where we have no other leader or companion but Him, when He is the whole solace of our life, the joy of our souls, then may we truly say:
“Jesus shall lead me night and day;
Jesus shall lead me all the way.
He is the truest friend to me,
For I remember Calvary.”
O Calvary! Where every sin was washed away;
where every defiled soul was relieved.
He took upon Himself our flesh, and laid it on the Cross
that He might destroy him that had the power of death—even the devil.
O, hallelujah! Your flesh, my brother; your iniquities”;
your helplessness; your waywardness. He took all, Praise the Lord.
While I preach to you the power of that wonderful life He is made manifest in the meeting, if you dare believe while you sit in your seats that there is a healing virtue to flow through you. O, what a wonderful treasure! There are those in the meeting to-night who are suffering, and I want to wake you by giving you thoughts on this line; if I can by any means say anything out of order to bring you into order I will do it, and I want to ask, beloved, “Is it right for you to have any sin if He took it?” “Is the Word of God true when it says He took our infirmities and bare sicknesses?”
How many to-night dare affirm outside of the Word of God that they are saved? I defy you to lay your hand upon anything else but that Word and say you are saved any other way. How many are there here who were saved because they believed. (Many hands were held up.) Now, there is a witness that God’s WORD is the power of Salvation.
The same principle applies to the passage in Isaiah. Just the same principle; He took your sins, your diseases, your imperfections; not one thing that has not been taken by Him, and I ask you to-night, in the Name of Jesus “Why be in bondage?” “Why be a slave to any power? O, beloved, I want God to show you that He has a plan of faith for you especially in your homes.
O to get Jesus in power, reigning in the homes over all Satanic powers. What it means to stand free; “complete” in the knowledge of God; binding the powers of Satan God has given us power over all the powers of the enemy, but it must be nothing less than “rest of faith” in God. O this rest of faith in God! What it means!
Let us come to the Word—this tremendous Word You can go through the Scriptures. You won’t find anything more remarkable than such vigilant truth back home all the powers in you if you rest upon this Word. Think about it—a “tree,”, a “mountain.” A tree—can a tree hear? It heard Him! Can a mountain! be moved?’ God took the Word—which was Jesus—and made the world. He made it out of the things that were not seen; and you can be saved by the Word of faith, with the power of the Word, and be transformed till you are a “living epistle” of the Word, and stand complete in the Word.
Why is it “a tree”—why is it “a mountain?” To help us. All the Word of God is specially to help us. But, you say, how can a tree help me—how can a mountain to be removed help me?
O beloved, when God says a tree He means a tree. When He says a mountain, He means a mountain—that you may know that nothing is too great for God. Everything you bring to God He will do it, even though it be stubborn as a mountain; though it be as resistless as a tree. God says, “Whatsoever ye desire when ye pray, believe in your heart, and it shall come to pass!”
What a God! To lift up such stubborn things so that you may know that nothing less than a mountain or a tree that comes along your way can hinder you, for God says, “If you believe, all things are possible.” What a God! What a Jesus! “Touched with the feeling of our infirmities!”
Hear what the Scriptures say: “If you want to be forgiven, you must forgive.” If you want blessing, you must be in the place of blessing. What would happen in the Churches to-day if all the people were full of love and forgiveness? How things would happen! How healings would take place! How revivals would break out! O the difficulty God has with us!
“If ye stand praying and you want God to forgive you, first remember that you must forgive one another. Have you hard hearts toward one another? God wants tender-hearts. How can you expect God to forgive when you have no forgiveness, compassion, love, affection.
God is full of love, and He cannot bear you believers to be anything less than love, LOVE, L-O-V-E! When you forgive, then God will forgive. When you learn to love, God will increase the love, and all men shall know that ye are My disciples, when ye LOVE ONE ANOTHER.”
My Savior is full of love; my Father is full of love. When we were yet sinners, Christ died for the ungodly. Love, Love, LOVE. I know people, O how they long to be healed! How they long for the presence and power of God! But, brother, do you forgive?
O Brother, heaven is in your soul when you love, when there is no condemnation to him which is in Christ Jesus. O, God wants love. Do you ask, “What will love do?” What can love not do? When our hearts are filled with love, it shall be unto us, “Thus saith the Lord,” and God will not fail us in our time of trial. He will be with us. O, if thou canst only believe! Hear what the Scripture says: “A mountain?” “Yes.” “A tree?” “Whatsoever ye desire, when ye pray, if ye doubt not in your hearts.” No man is better than his heart. Faith is the heart’s affection—the heart’s strength. He can only make these qualities as the ground is submitted to Him.
The Word is the same—the power of the Holy Ghost is the same. May God change our hearts to-night; take away the worldly ambitions, carnality, indulgence, every depravity; take them away, and create a right spirit of God within. Lord breathe upon us, “and create a desire for the heart’s cleansing and purifying. “Whatsoever ye desire, when ye pray believing ye shall receive, ye shall have if ye doubt not in your hearts.” O, what God has for us to-night if we will only believe! If you fail a thousand times, I still hear the Word, “All things are possible.” Glory to God.
God can be the strength of the heart in the deepest trial. O, the Living God is in the midst of us. Let the Lord watch you to-night for a separation unto Himself in righteousness, where no iniquity shall come between you and God.
Do you want Him? He will not fail you. God cannot fail you. He is real. Put thy trust in the Lord, for there is no want to them that trust. Him. They that trust the Lord shall find Him wholly true.
“All things are possible.” Hallelujah! The Lord God Omnipotent reigneth. He reigns—O, hallelujah! “Forever and ever, O not for a day, He keepeth His promise forever; To all who believe, to all who obey, He keepeth His promise forever.”
