Daily Feast – April 10

Stay Saved

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;- Colossians 1:9-11

The solution to spiritual curses does not end with the new birth.  One thing is to get saved but it is another thing to stay saved. That is the reason Paul, the apostle prayed for the church at Colosse. Apostle Paul and his companion in the ministry were not just praying for these Christians but also desiring them to walk worthy of the Lord. They needed to stay saved (protected, delivered preserved and redeemed) so that Satan- the rebel ruler in the realm of authority over our atmosphere, will not be able to influence them for evil.

You cannot stay in two kingdoms at the same time but you can be influenced by any of the kingdoms. This is the reason we have people today who are not saved but have been positively influenced by godly heritage. Such was Saul of Tarsus who became Paul the apostle and bondservant of the Lord. Hear him.

He was a religious Zealot. He had a good and godly upbringing but this positive influence is not synonymous with having eternal life. Belonging to a good denomination is not the same as being saved.

Paul was called from the womb without knowing it. The devil perverted his strength and used it to persecute the church of God and to waste it. I have no doubt in my mind that some religious Zealots today in the world who are not born again are probably called and separated from the womb like Paul. But the sad thing today is that unless they are saved they would have wasted their sojourn on earth. On the other hand, there are believers today influenced by the spirit of rebellion who are in the Body of Christ. By allowing themselves to be used by the devil, they, therefore, become a curse.

Disobedience or rebellion is contagious. It brings strange storms not only to the rebels but to their companions. The scriptures admonished believers to avoid spiritual rebels. – Men and women violating divine authority and principles. Rebellion opens a man to the influence of the satanic kingdom. Satan’s power is only made strong in disobedience.

That spirit works in the children of wrath but also operates from outside to attack the minds and the flesh of the saints. We are therefore in a spiritual warfare. We are however not a militant army but an army of occupation. We are to enforce the victory won by Jesus (our substitute) over the forces of wickedness.

Prayer: Father, I pray that I may be filled with the knowledge of your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that I may walk worthy of you, Lord, fully pleasing you, being fruitful in ever good work in Jesus Name.
