Daily Feast – April 13

Hold On To Your Dreams (Part I)

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.- Jeremiah 29:11

Many times we presume favour should be rewarded with promotion, Joseph found himself in the prison yard for standing for righteousness. When it looked as if things were getting worse for Joseph but he neither doubted God nor said anything negative. There was never a report that Joseph regretted his righteous living. He just believed and obeyed God.

While in the prison, Joseph had no confidant than God. The prison yard ever gave him an opportunity to be more intimate with God; he maintained an unbroken fellowship with the God of his father. I could imagine that memorable morning he was invited by Pharaoh; he shaved his beard because he knew no one comes before Pharaoh; Unshaven. He already knew that his dream was about to manifest. And when he had the opportunity to speak with Pharaoh, he did not speak like a beggar. You wonder how some so-called believers behave beggarly when they come before prominent people. Brethren, no one can replace God in your life. Apart from the fact that Joseph pointed Pharaoh to God, He also told Pharaoh to look for somebody who can manage the affairs of Egypt. Notice that he did not volunteer himself, he did not promote himself and Pharaoh didn’t see anyone better in his kingdom than Joseph, Joseph was made to be in charge of the affairs of Egypt. He became the Senator and head over Egypt. In other words, Pharaoh lost his throne to the wisdom of God in Joseph!

Joseph did not interpret the dreams of Pharaoh because he wanted to occupy a position but God planned it that way. Beloved, If God wants you to be in a place, no one can stop you.  Daniel was a righteous man even though he lived in a strange land. Daniel was in the centre of God’s will, yet people conspired against him. But despite the conspiracy of 120 leaders against him, Daniel was promoted above all of them. His enemies deceived the king to make a decree to ensure Daniel was trapped but God did not only shut the mouth of the lions but used them as pillow and mattress for Daniel.

Brethren, if God is for you who can be against you? It is true some may rise against you but they will utterly fail, as long as you are on the Lord’s side. Beloved, be sure that God cares; he can use your enemies to work out His will for your life. May God’s purpose be established in your life in Jesus Name. Amen.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I receive grace to hold on to my God-given dreams regardless of seemingly impossibilities in Jesus name, Amen.
