Daily Feast – April 24

The Father’s Love And Care (II)

But He (Himself was in the stern (of the boat) asleep on the (leather) cushion; and awoke Him and said to Him, Master, do you not care that we are perishing? - Mark 4:38 (AMP)

What they meant, in essence, is’’ we doubt whether you are in love’’ They felt Jesus was not concerned about their safety. Do you think this accusation is justifiable? Can you see how they all responded to pressure? You can see the level of their faith by what they said. You can see the impulse of their unbelief in the midst of troubles

Here they did not say, ‘’ you do not care that you are perishing ‘’ they knew He could not perish even though He was sleeping but they were not sure of their own safety. When Jesus spoke to them from the on-set, He said ‘’ let us go ……, ‘’ He did not say ‘’let me go….’’ In other words, Jesus saw himself and safety of God. The words of Jesus were powerful enough to take good care of all of them, yet they never saw their inclusion in the divine plan. They probably thought that the protection and safety of God could only work for Jesus and not for them. Beloved, whatever works for Jesus can also work for you.

… Teacher, is it nothing to you that we are going down   - Mark 4: 38 (MSG Bible)

Believers may not be saying this to Jesus today, but we often think like this. A man is as good as his thought life. The disciples did not think on the positive side of the words Jesus spoke to them. Have you allowed what people are saying around you to make you doubt God’s love? Beloved, consider verse 39 to see the response of the loving and caring Jesus.

Prayer: I take authority over every storm of the devil in my life. I declare, let there be a great calm in the name of Jesus, Amen.
