Living to Please God (2)
Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. - Matthew.12:33
Have you ever mistaken people for who you think they are until they turn their faces to you? You convince yourself that they are who you think they are until they turn their faces to you. Viewing people from the back may mistake them for who you think they are. Your face or head is your real identity and there lies the senses that control your body. Every organ in the body receives its coordination from the brain. This is the law of recognition.
The recognition of a tree is by its fruit. Plants show resemblances or similarities and mainly differentiated by the kind of fruits they produce. Jesus says …for a tree is known by his fruit (Matthew 12:33b). If therefore a tree is recognized by its fruit, then Jesus the Head of the church is our identity. He alone can define the true church. He is our Head, the captain of our salvation, our Lord and model. We behold him to be transformed into his likeness, and the world see him in us as we live true to our commitment and values. Jesus compared our relationship with that of a vine where believers as branches draw nourishment and life from the vine. The branch cannot live apart from the vine. Our ultimate goal should be to please the maker for God has committed all things to him
Prayer: I pray that I may be solely and wholly committed to my walk with you all the days of my life in Jesus name. Amen!
