Daily Feast – December 22

Seek Him first and Have it All

And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. - Matthew 6:7-8

Brethren, do you know that some think the more they say, the faster their prayers are answered? But God said we should not use vain repetition in prayer because He hears us whenever we call on Him. He even knows what we are thinking about. But the reason why God wants us to ask before He gives us is so that no one will accuse God of giving him what he did not ask for like Adam accused God. But in case you think God is too far away to hear you, He already assured us in His word.

God did not say you don't need some material things of this world, food, drink, clothing etc. God is aware you need them all. But what you need to do to get His attention is to "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness". And the fact that some so-called believers live wrong and deceitful life does not render void the power of God. Some may fail, no matter the preaching they listen to, but God's power is real, heaven and hell are also real.

Natural parents know how to give good gifts to their children, how then do you think God cannot give you good things of life? What are the good things? If healing is good, then God is capable of healing you. Is wealth good? If yes, then God is capable of giving prosperity. Is protection good? Then God has the ability to protect His own. Is long life good? If yes, then God has enough power to prolong your years on earth.

Therefore, brethren, God delights in you and He will not withhold any good thing from you.

Prayer: Oh Lord, help me to always trust in your righteousness that I have become in Christ Jesus. You that brought millions of Jews from Egypt with silver and gold with no feeble person among them is restoring health unto me according to his word in Jesus Name.
