Daily Feast – December 28

Separating Yourself From Negative Flows

Then Jacob answered and said to Laban, “Because I was afraid, for I said, ‘Perhaps you would take your daughters from me by force.’ With whomever you find your gods, do not let him live. In the presence of our brethren, identify what I have of yours and take it with you.” For Jacob did not know that Rachel had stolen them. -Genesis 31:31-32

What was Rachel doing with idols on her way to the promised land? Rachel cleverly covered her evil with her pregnancy, but the toil of sin is always very heavy. The law of recompense is a sure law. Rachel did not realize that she had married an unusually blessed man. The Jacob in the service of his father Laban was quite different from the Jacob in the pursuit of divine purpose. This same Jacob had encountered the God of heaven and the earth who changed his name to Israel. He had become the blessed of the Lord.  Sadly, this was unknown to Rachel and she died during childbirth.

She did not live to see the enthronement of her son Joseph as the Prime Minister in Egypt. She spent a major part of her life fighting everyone as a result of her delayed childbearing and when the sons came, she was not around to enjoy them. May you live to enjoy your life on Earth in Jesus Name.

The lie of ancestral flow is to always believe that once a mother failed and die prematurely the same fate awaits the offspring. Life leaves us with choices and Joseph the first son of Rachael lived a fulfilled life and died at a very old age. He chose a path of honour by seeking and following the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. May you make the right choice today in JESUS NAME. When you look at Joseph in the house of Potiphar, it was as if the dreams he had in his father’s house would never be fulfilled. He became a servant in a totally strange land. There is no product without process. As precious diamond comes out of pressed black carbon, so God brings our best out of adversities. So, see difficulties as challenges not as problems.

If it is a problem, we will tend to avoid it but if it is a challenge, we will face it thoughtfully and decisively so that the vision will speak at the end. Once the hand of God has marked you out for a difference, He will take you through roads that men will not understand. Looking at Joseph with the ordinary eye, one may think that his end has come, but there is no end without the ENDING. Our God is the beginning and the ending and we all are in the middle. He is the A and the Z; the Alpha and the Omega. You being in the middle means you cannot be conquered by the enemies. God has plans for your life that cannot be destroyed by whatever circumstance you may face. If you discover your destiny, you will succeed. May your dream come to pass like that of Joseph. May God take you to where he plans for you in Jesus Name.

Prayer: Father, any negative thing that will not allow my journey to end well, I uproot them from my life in Jesus name.
