Daily Feast – December 6

Do not give up

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;2 Corinthians 4:8-9

The easiest thing in the world is to give up. The mark of life is growth. For instance, if you plant maize and you covered it up, once a little ray of light enters through the cover, the plant will bend toward the direction of the light. Plants ares made that way; it does not give up and say it’s too dark. I cannot become anything. No, it will move toward the light.

Hear this, God doesn’t promise to take you over but to take you through. Many times, people are looking for a magician, they will say “God just take me out of this.” God did not take the children of Israel from Egypt and drop them into the Promised Land, He took them through. You will not get experience and wisdom until you go through. The things we went through help us in life today. We all hate trouble, but trouble made all of us.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

Beloved, be determined to make it. Cast down every negative idea. Don't ever say you will give up. Cast out negative dreams or vision of the night that says you are limited; that God cannot do what He plans for your life. God can do in your life whatever He plans for you. Some don't have experience and wisdom because they have gone through nothing.

When they see mountains, they dodge it. No, that you dodge a mountain does not mean the mountain will go away. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; II Corinthians 4:8-9

This was the experience of Apostle Paul. A Bible version says, “Knocked down but not knocked out”. Have you ever watched a boxing match, for example, Mohammed Ali versus Frazer in those days? One just hit the other and he landed on the ground. The spectators may assume it is finished with the man on the ground, helplessly lying down. As the referee is counting, the man on the ground is trying to gain strength and courage. He then rises up with a ferocious punch. He hits his opponent badly and brings him down; at the end of the game, he becomes a winner.

The story of your life is like that, you may be defeated now; it may look as if you are at the bottom of the barrel but you cannot go lower than that. There is only one way for you to go, which is the upward way.

Prayer: Oh Lord, I pray against everything that brings shame, reproach and disgrace to my life in Jesus Name. I claim the restoration and recovery of every lost grounds and I refuse to take side with any predicament, for I deliberately dream of better victorious life in Christ Jesus.
