Daily Feast – February 25

Living a Life of Purity

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.. - 2 Timothy 2:20-21

Things that want to resist you will not be able to resist you when your life is pure. I am not saying that everybody is perfect; I am talking about the purity of your heart. God is looking for a perfect and honest heart. God forgives sincere people but He does not spare the hypocrite. Those who are pretending, who want to show people that they are what they are not are into deception. But God is calling us to have a pure heart, to be real and to love Him. If God will work with you, you must make a choice of purity.

There are many people today in the church who behave like Ananiah and Saphirah. They are born again, they speak in tongue, they have made Him their saviour but not yet the Lord of their lives. Lord is Adonai which means controller or master. He wants to have total control of your life. When the Lord bought you, you lost your right to him. The things you bought do not protest. That is the reality of redemption. You need therefore to submit to Him.

See the testimony about the life of Jesus:

But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. -Hebrew 1: 8-9

Jesus could reign and rule because He loved righteous life. Beloved, for a victorious Christian life, holiness is not optional. Many people chase after money but, if you get the money and lose your soul what have you gained? You must live holy.

They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. - Jonah 2:8

Also the Bible says,

And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries:but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. -Daniel 11: 32

It is easier to preach it than to do it, but our first commitment is to be a doer of God's words. There are many people today who are not saved because they do not know the difference between Christianity and 'Christianism'. Many people practice Christianism as the life of Christ has not permeated into them; thus they are bad examples of Christianity. God is looking for good role models in the last days, men you can follow as they follow Jesus.

Prayer: Lord I make a choice today, a choice to live a holy and righteous life, to be pure in heart and to fasten my thought on every glorious work of God, praising him always. Give me the grace to be a doer of your word so I can prosper in all my ways. Lord, I submit to your will and your way and I ask that you help me to be a good ambassador for Christ as you find expression through me daily in JESUS NAME.
