Daily Feast – February 27

Invest in God and his plan for your life.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.- Matthew 13:45- 46

If you earn money and you spend it, that is the highest it can ever be. I want you to think on this statement. There is an adage which I have joined others to say which I later found out to be wrong; it says, “The customer is the king”. I found out it is a lie; it is not true. An investor is a king.

Who determines the price of bread? Is it the customers or the bakers? Suppliers can make products to be scarce so that the demand will be high. If bakers want to increase the price of bread, they will just direct that every bakery should stop producing bread for a week or two. After two weeks, consumers are ready to buy bread at any price. So, who is the king? If you spend money, it is gone in your life but if you invest your money that is the least it can become. Do not be afraid of investing; investors are the ruler and masters of consumers. Buyers do not determine the worth. It is necessity that determines the worth of a thing not buyers.

You know the story of the man with one talent in the Bible. He went to hide it inside the ground; he did not do anything with it because he thought it was too small. Do something with your life. Look in the area where you live, what do they need that you can supply? Do not be afraid to invest; learn to invest.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. - Matthew 13:44

What Jesus was telling us in this scripture is investment. Investors are kings, not consumers. What are you going to do with your life?

Many years ago, Chief Awolowo, a premier of the then Western Region in Nigeria only had B.Sc Commerce but because he had a vision to become a leader one day, he put his house and all he had on auction sale to study Law in England. He went abroad, studied law and came back to this nation as a lawyer. By the time he came back, he had enough money to buy his house back at a higher price. He pursued his dream and became a great politician in the nation of Nigeria.

It is my prayer you will believe in yourself. I am not saying you should start big. No one becomes big suddenly. Do not despise the days of your small beginnings.

Everything created in the world started small. If I were God, I would make everything in one minute, but God did not rush. God was not afraid neither was He in a hurry. He rejoiced over all that He created. Learn to rejoice on the road to where you are going. You are making progress. It is my prayer; great things will come out of your life in the name of Jesus.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for the great plans you have for me. Dear Father, open my eyes to see opportunities for growth and investment around me, give me the grace to take steps of faith in the right direction daily. By the grace of God, I will not despise my days of little beginning in Jesus name.
