God’s Prophetic Agenda

And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. - Luke 21:25-26

This new Millennium is the last and greatest of all. It will not only usher in the coming king but it will also be a time of great distresses in nations. Indeed, this generation is going through distresses never seen in the history of the world. At the same time, there will be great visitations and out-pouring of the Holy Spirit. Unusual miracles, signs and wonders will take place before our eyes. Our Lord, talking about our days prophesied about the fullness of the Gentiles. Jerusalem has been trodden down by the Gentiles nations.

Israel had become the objects of God’s judgment for about two thousand years so as to allow the Gentiles nations to come into repentance and salvation. The time is up, the calendar of the world is winding up. On the side of the nations, it will be a great trial. The sea and the waves roaring is a reference to the distresses of multitudes. Nations and tribes are rising against themselves but for the Church, it is a glorious time. It is a time to look up to the good shepherd of the Church in his present-day ministry as the Apostle and High Priest of our confession. We are a privileged set of Christians. God in his divine plans and purpose had allowed us to witness at the same time the end of a decade, a century and a millennium. Significantly, another one thousand years had passed in the calendar of the world and as an old garment, the world is nearing replacement. It will one day be folded up; having been corrupted by sin, violence, wickedness, adultery and abominable idolatry.

God will fold up the work of his hand as he establishes the righteous reign of His Son-Righteous and judge on earth. The agenda of God is being revealed in our days. We are a prophetic generation, a generation that will bring back the KING of kings and LORD of Lords after seven years of sojourn in Heaven. God indeed the righteous judge is coming to establish truth, wisdom, righteousness and power on the earth.
