Daily Feast – June 15

From Trials To Triumph

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.- James 1:2-4

Many times the children of God walk and act based on the situation or circumstances that surround them. They think less of the covenant and promises of God over their lives that can never fail. Consequently, many Christians prefer to rely on human wisdom that is subject to failure and uncertainty than to trust and keep faith in God’s word and promises.

The story of the children of God, carried away from Jerusalem to the land of Babylon was a pointer to the fact that God’s promises remain valid and sure to be fulfilled in the life of every believer, and I am convinced your case cannot be an exception. Although the name of God was never mentioned in the book of Esther, nevertheless, behind the scene, God’s hand was working out His will in His own time and in His way.

Haman the enemy of the Jews who found himself in the position of leadership and authority decided to allow himself to be used by the devil. He devised a plan to exterminate the Jews that dwelled in the Babylonian empire. He never knew that God was behind the scene, working out his will to preserve His people. Unknown to him, God had positioned full-blooded Jew in and around the seat of government. As a Sovereign God, He had positioned the reigning Queen as a voice for Him in a strange land.

Queen Esther defeated Haman, the enemy of the Jews as she turned the fire of his bitterness and hatred against his own head. While everything appeared bleak initially to Esther and Mordecai, God was working out a plan not only to exalt Mordecai but also to pay back in his own coin the evil conspirator, Haman. So you reader of this devotion I pray for you that as Jews defeated Haman their enemy, so receive your victory over your enemies.

Prayer: Father, I thank you because in Christ Jesus, I have total victory over Satan and over all his cohorts in Jesus name, Amen.
