Nurturing Destinies

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations. - Jeremiah 1:5

Nobody will ever fulfill a destiny he/she is not aware of. You can never take advantage of what you don’t know. Knowledge is power and it is the only cure for ignorance. The people of this generation have their major focus on the development of the soul of a child at the expense of his spirit. This is to allow the child to have his feet fixed firmly in his society/economic world. We often see parents spending much money on a child’s education because they believe that it is the only way the child can become great, yet we have witnessed many failures in our society today. There must be a balance to the development of a child. The greatest investment on a child is the spiritual investment. Since this is directed at fulfilling their destinies, there is a reason in the heart of the creator for every living soul on earth.

Things to consider in Nurturing a Child

The Right Foundation: Psalms 11:3; If the foundation is destroyed, what can the righteous do? Nobody builds without a foundation. The strength of a building is determined by the foundation it is resting on. You can rush a building to completion, but never the foundation.

Setting of Priority: Psalms 127:3-5; Focus is the mother of success. What you set your heart to do is what you achieve in life. Because children are a reward in life, they should be an important focus in the family.

Zechariah worked so well on John that John perfectly fulfilled the reason for his existence. Jesus gave him a commendation. God always see us in our strength, not in our weakness.

Guide the Children to Develop Personal Fellowship with God: Let the children know God personally. God wants to be known as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God has no grandchild. Be prayerful and lift the children before God and Make the right confession about them.

Prayer: Father, I receive grace to influence and bring up my family in the fear and admonition of the Lord in Jesus name Amen.
