Reversing the Curse Through The Prayer Of Faith

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.- 1 Chronicles 4:10

Jabez is remembered for his prayer. Jabez was able to identify the problem in his life and believed that the prayer of faith would bring a turning point to his life. His motive for praying was very pure. He knew what he wanted and went straight to obtain it. He said that God should bless him indeed. For a man to be blessed is to be envied, happy, fortunate, to be empowered or to be exalted. He wanted to radiate the Glory of God.

Jabez acknowledged God as the unchanging changer, and he turned to Him to bring about definite changes in his life. The bible says, “And God granted his request” What led Jabez to pray just in one verse, is what is, today, popular as the prayer of Jabez.

His mother called him that name, Jabez because of the circumstance surrounding his birth. He chose not to accept the ugly circumstance surrounding his birth.

He used prayer to change his circumstance and aligned himself accordingly to his destiny in God. He became more honourable than his brethren. God wants to effect the desired and needed changes in your lives through prayers.

Prayer: God, I trust you for divine enlargement in every area of my life until I become the envy of the world in Jesus Name.
