Daily Feast – March 6

Glorious Hope

For it is written in the law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Is it oxen God is concerned about? Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope.- I Corinthians 9:9-10

Many times, we talk about faith; yes, faith is important, but faith must also meet hope in you. God did not call believers into hopeless living. You cannot claim to be a child of God and say you are hopeless or that there is no future for you. There is a future for you in Christ Jesus as long as you are God's own. And there is no medicine for discouragement than to be of good courage. God is encouraging your heart now so you can have a glorious ending.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.- Hebrews 11:1

Faith gives substance to your hope, to your optimism. Do not come to a point that you get so depressed that nothing can encourage you. No matter how long the night is, beyond the night is a glorious morning coming. Do not allow divine hope to escape you. God is for you, so be optimistic about life.

Many only see darkness, gloom and evil as if nothing good can come to them again; no wonder there are suicide cases all over. If only you can hold on, the plan of God will come to reality in your life. Hope makes you hold on, so Do not let the enemy tamper with your hope.

There was an exercise done in the military in a particular country and the bridge collapsed. While others fell down and died, there was a man that held on to the branch of a nearby tree. He was there for hours and at a point, he got so tired, yet, he held on until those on rescue mission came. When he was finally rescued, he was asked how he didn't give up. He said anytime he got to the verge of giving up, something tells him to keep holding on; that rescue is on the way. I pray you will not use today to silence your tomorrow.

When you become a prisoner of hope, you will not see any alternative to Jesus. Believers are not hopeless Christians. People may see the beginning of our lives but it is not over today; a glorious future lies ahead of us (see Psalms 126:1).

When Job had trouble, it was as if the trouble would not end but Job was a man who endured patiently. Every trouble has an expiry date and just as every drug expires, whatever the enemy has planned against you, if your hope is in place, will also expire and the story will change.

And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before - Job 42:10

Just like Job, a turning point is coming your way in Jesus name. We are partakers of the hope of Jesus; hope that is not based on circumstance or on what we feel but on the infallible word of God. God is not a man; He cannot fail because there is no failure in Him.

Prayer: LORD help me to never lose hope even in the face of adversity but to hold on to your infallible word in JESUS NAME.
