Daily Feast – May 1

Let your confessions agree with your belief

These men of faith I have mentioned died without ever receiving all that God had promised them; but they saw it all awaiting them on ahead and were glad, for they agreed that this earth was not their real home but that they were just strangers visiting down here.- Hebrews 11:13

The Bible makes it clear in Mathew 12:35 that, “A good man out of the treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things; and a man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. Conviction is of the heart and confession is of the mouth. But conviction of the heart without confession of the mouth is like faith without work; it is dead. Yet, confession also without conviction from the heart is a noisy boast of a loud mouth and an empty head! This means that, even if you are convinced that God’s word is true, your confession must correspond with your belief and before you confess also, be sure you are convinced about what you are confessing. When you are declaring God’s word, the power of God is working through you, more powerful than the natural dynamite.

Faith is not hope; hope folds its hand and keeps dreaming, waiting patiently for God to do something without action. But when faith is involved, there is a movement. Hope sits on a chair and says, “I will sit here and wait until God does something”, but I want to tell you that God has done all He should do for you. It is now left for you to take what God has made available unto you through your confession and corresponding action. What you can do, no matter how little it is; that is when God can step in.

Prayer: Oh Father, I believe you have prepared my heart and mind that I may not lean on my own understanding but will acknowledge you in all my ways. I thank you father that your peace surrounds my mind and spirit in Jesus name.
