Daily Feast – May 19

You Are The Light Of The World

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven- Matthew 5:14-16

As believers who have been saved by grace through faith, we are obliged by our salvation to be concerned about the salvation of members of our families. In Joshua 6:23, Rahab, her father, mother and brethren and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.

As a believer, let your faith cover your entire household; your spouse, children, brothers and sisters; use your faith to cover them. If you can have faith, it will be the spiritual shelter, not for you alone, but also for members of your house. Rahab made sure she made adequate arrangement for members of her family, even though she was just a harlot. This shows she had so much interest in saving her household. Rahab did not seek deliverance for herself alone, she was also concerned about members of her family.

Many times, people are only concerned about themselves; know this today that the light of your life should be enough reflection to attract and compel members of your family to Jesus. Act like Joshua who decided that he and his household would serve the God of Israel, not minding what other choose to serve. Do all that is within your power to be sure that none of your family member will die without knowing Jesus. Let your light shine in your home and family.

Prayer: O God, let my light shine that people may see your good works in my life and glorify you in Jesus name
