Daily Feast – November 12

Benefits of Loving God (1)

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”- Psalm 91:14-16

There are things God promised those who will love Him; and with these promises, there is nothing you cannot conquer. Many want the 'therefore will I deliver him: while God is also waiting for the 'because he has set his love upon me'. Set your love upon Him first before you become qualified for these promises. God's presence in your life is important because He is the One that knows your future more than you know your past.

Benefits of Loving God

(1) God promised to deliver you if only you will love Him. Even the rich can cry like a baby when they are in trouble; so, we all need God in our lives. Let us love and honour Him. When people honour you in your secular job, you should not carry that mindset of honour to the church. Whatever/whoever you are in the world should not be displayed in the church. No matter who you are, you will always need God. Do not assume it is only the small ones or the poor that need to love/worship God. Do not think it is only the young that should shout to praise God. When we shout in the church, our shout is not to any man but to the almighty God; the One who can raise the dead no matter how stinking it is.

(2) He will set you on high. God says it cannot be lower than this for you. Even if you are presently at the bottom of the barrel, with your love for Him, you become a candidate for promotion. '1 will set him on high’ means you are on the way to your top. Elijah loved the Lord; he thought he was the only prophet left; not knowing that God had other 7,000 saints that had been kept from the reach of an evil woman. Out of frustration because of the threat of Jezebel, Elijah ran under a tree and asked God to kill him. And when the angel of the Lord came with food, he woke him up to eat and he ate twice. If Elijah had meant he wanted to die, he would have refused to eat when the angel brought him food. God brought Elijah food because He knew Elijah did not mean it when he said he wanted to die.

Many times, when we are frustrated, we blurt out speaking words that negate our faith. But God knows we do not mean ‘what we say because He knew those words were said out of frustration. But at those times, God remembers your love for Him to reward you. And on the long run when Elijah ate two square meals, he travelled one hundred miles journey in forty days. Elijah wanted to die when it remained eighteen years to his home going in a chariot of the For you, this is not a time to die; just show Him your love and you will see that God will set you on high; He will lift you so high that it will surprise you and shock your enemy

Prayer: In Jesus Name, I refuse to be frustrated by the spirit of wickedness on the earth today. I am a child of love because God is love and in love I conquered all evil. I shall not be overcome and overpowered by evil. Oh Lord, help me to always respond to your love, for in your love is my hiding place in Jesus Name.
