Build your Confidence in God

Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward- Hebrews 10:35

There are many things in the world that people often have their confidence in. When the head of a snake is cut off, and the body still wriggles, only little children will assume the snake is still living because the headless snake is still wriggling its body. But a mature man will go his way once the head of the snake is cut off because he understands that once the head is gone, the snake is dead; he also knows that the wriggling is not an indication that the snake is still alive. We often have confidence in what man can do. When you receive treatment from the doctor, you go home and relax based on his word, even if the symptoms are still visible. You have the confidence that the high temperature will eventually come down since the doctor has treated you. That is how far we believe in human being. If you can have confidence in man that can fail, how can you not have confidence in God who cannot fail?

God is waiting for us to have confidence in Him. Confidence is faith. Apostle Paul got to the level of having total confidence in God though he was once injurious to the gospel. Hear him in Romans 8:38-39:

…for I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The more confidence you have in God, the clearer His dealings you have. Paul is confident that nothing existing on earth is powerful enough to separate him from the love of God. Such confidence comes from a deep persuasion, not in man but in God Who made all things and no one made Him; who commanded a fish to swallow and vomit a man after three days in the depth of the sea; the One that speaks to the tree and it withers; the One that walked on water as if water is a solid platform; the One that multiplied loaves of bread to feed five thousand men (not counting women and children).

Do not put your confidence in the world system that is already failing. No wonder one of the richest men in the world committed suicide because the stock market crashed, and his investment went down the drain. When there was stock market crash, many stockbrokers and fund managers jumped to their deaths from skyscrapers in America and other nations. They have always assumed their investment portfolios would not fail. Nothing that man creates is certain to last. Anything on earth may fail, but there is a God that cannot fail. The scripture says …cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. (Hebrew 10:35).

Your confidence in God has a great reward. Recompense means compensation coming to you. We do not serve a God that does not reward. Our God is not a taskmaster; He does not use you to abandon you. You can never be worse than you are while serving Him; this is the least level you can ever be in life. Every day of your life must be a day of progress and increase because He is God and circumstance has no power over Him

Prayer: Oh Lord, I believe you hide me from every evil force. You hide me under the blood of Jesus; in the secret of your tabernacle. You set me on Jesus as a rock higher than all my enemies have being lifted to a place of victory in Jesus Name
