Daily Feast – November 4

His faithfulness even in time of Need

Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” They said to him, “We are going with you also.” They went out and immediately got into the boat, and that night they caught nothing. But when the morning had now come, Jesus stood on the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to them, “Children, have you any food?” They answered Him, “No.” And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some. So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish - John 21:3-7

Your trials are never bigger than your blessings. Whatever you are going through is an indication of the blessing that is coming to you

Let us take into consideration the life of Peter who was an experienced fisherman who caught no fish that night. Is it not wise to ask yourself, where were all the fishes'? Does it mean the disciples had lost touch of the techniques of how to fish? Or could it be a sign that God was not involved in what they were doing? Beloved, do you know your experience can be defeated by the devil if God is not involved in it? The smartness of man can be rubbished by the enemy without the Lord's backing.

Why did Jesus call grown-up men 'children'? It is because, just like the true character of a child, the disciples were unstable and unreliable in their character. Peter toiled without yielding any result until Jesus came to the scene. Who told you following God will make you lose out? When you love God, God will make everything, including adversity, work for your good. On the long run, you will not be a loser following God. Godliness is profitable so don't let your focus be on material things, let it be on God. If you seek his way of doing things, then what natural people look for will be added to you.

My brethren, I want you to always remember that God has a purpose for your pain, a reason for your struggle and a reward for your perseverance. Therefore, trust in Him and don’t give up.

Prayer: God’s purpose shall be established in my life in Jesus name
