Daily Feast – October 1

You Belong to A Spiritual Family

so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. - Romans 12 :5

No one chose the family where he/she is born; we all grew to discover our natural parents. We didn't have the liberty to choose those who gave birth to us. If you want to make a choice of where to be born, you would have chosen where there is no struggle or lack, you would have preferred to come from a wealthy family. However, you can't re-write the story of your past but you can decide what your future will be.

The truth is that believers belong to a kingdom which exists before we were born. Your parents may not be so wise, but you may choose to live to be wiser than Solomon. You may even be given birth to under unwanted circumstance, but if God could use Jephthah, then the circumstance of your birth cannot determine your destiny. If God could use Esther, an orphan who lived in a strange land, then your upbringing and environment are not enough to limit you. You may have a dirty past but remember God used Rahab who was a harlot. You did not determine where you are born, but once you are here on earth, what happens to you becomes your choice and your determination not to fail.

Many times, we relate to our earthly family, without connecting to our spiritual family. People often fight attacks because they relate only to the earthly, weak, sinful and human natural family. When we listen to our earthly family more than we hear God, we make God powerless to help us.

There are two families on earth, the family of God and the family of Satan. Regardless of your heritage, background or colour, everyone belongs to one of these two families. The issue is who is your father? Is it God or Satan?

Prayer: Glory be to God for my godly heritage in Christ. Help me to represent you well on earth that I may bring greater glory to you in Jesus Name
