The Faith that Enforces Satan’s Defeat (1)

For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the Lord, which run to and fro through the whole earth. - Zechariah 4:10

The only place you find the word success ahead of the word work is in the dictionary. Everywhere else, work precedes success. Everything in your life starts from a small beginning and God warns us not to despise the day of small things. Our greatness starts like a small thing even though the  tendency to despise the foundation is always there. Nothing is created big. Even God in creation started by creating things after a pattern or order. He chose to rejoice over His work even when  He had not finished His assignment.

We must learn to rejoice in the process of our assignment. Enthusiasm or delight is a positive attitude that we ought to have if we desire to witness positive changes in our lives.  God spoke out His expectation when He declared ‘’Let there be light’’. He spoke creative words as if light had existed before. He conceived it in His dream and spoke it with His mouth and then it manifested in the physical. You would wonder why the incomparable, incomprehensible God would have to speak ‘’let there be this and that’’ for several times in the first chapter of Genesis. It looks monotonous. After all if He is God, He could bring everything to manifestation in one second by just speaking them. But God is trying to show men how He used His word to create His world. Nothing just happens. He spoke them by faith. We are told that God exercised Bible faith in creation. The raw material that God used in creating what we see today was faith and man as the image of God is supposed to create his own world by the same. Without it, we cannot please God.

The eleventh chapter of Hebrews gave us the list of faith heroes who obtained great reward as a result of their faith in God. Whatever a man sows in life, he shall reap its harvest. Even though God is a rewarder, the reason many do not obtain reward for their  seeking is because they are not diligent in their seeking. If God rewards those who merely seek Him, then every religious person who attends churches has a right to accuse God of unfairness. Many people do not see reward for serving Him. The reason for the few results is that only few qualify themselves for its fulfilment. Only few people are consistent and diligent. Work is always before success as far as God is concerned and it is only the crooks and the busybodies who desire a breakthrough, success or promotion without efforts or labour. It is when we do what is within our power to do that God’s power rest on us. Itis when we do the possible that God goes to work the impossible.

Prayer: O Lord, open my eyes to see my responsibilities and strengthen my inner man to always believe that your grace is sufficient to meet every need in my life. Before a need will arise, divine provision is available for me in Jesus Name
