The Faith that Enforces Satan’s Defeat (2)

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. - 1 John 5:4

Faith is beyond feelings. It’s beyond the level of the five senses. You do not need to feel God hears you before you believe God.What you need is to have His word for an issue and that will become the foundation to build your faith. At new birth, faith is given to us as a gift.

Although God gives us faith to benefit us, we can allow it to increase or decrease by what we do with it. Its one thing for God to give us a thing but its another for us to make use of it.When a child is born into the world, he has potentially everything that an adult has but those organs and muscles are not functioning maximally because they have not been exercised. The potential of great faith is by hearing the word (read Romans 12:3).But great faith comes by exercising what we have heard. We will never develop faith muscles without exercising them. This will happen when we go through the roads that God has marked out for our lives (Romans 10:17).

We all have a race to run; a job to be done and a life to live. But we also have a common and vicious enemy among whose one goal is to hinder us from becoming the best that God intends for us. Therefore God gives us our faith so we can obtain victory in the face of defeat; triumph in the face of trials and tests. So faith living is believing in the ability and willingness of God to bring His plans to pass in our lives. It is this that moves us to confess what we believe in our hearts. Faith is of the heart and unless we confess with our mouth what we believe in our heart, our faith is not going to function.

From our passage (Romans 8-10), we see that our believing and confession are very important. Believing is of the heart but confession is of the mouth. This implies that whatever we confess, we can possess. Our mouth or word carries great consequences as it can either imprison us or liberate us. It can bring us blessings or curses, sickness or soundness and poverty or riches. We are as wealthy as our mouth is. God’s word shows us the potency of words in fashioning our destiny.Whatever therefore you don’t like to manifest in your life should not be spoken with  the tongue. Few people realize the danger of getting snared by their words as spirit beings.

Our faith is given to us to make the difference in our lives and to give victories and blessings in the midst of terrible circumstances. What inheritance, skill and talent cannot bring us, faith in God’s ability and His willingness will procure for us. James talked of this:Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and Heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him (chapter 2 verse 5)?

Prayer: God creative power is working through my mouth and my confession brings my possession. In the name of Jesus, I confess that I am blessed, and no one can curse what God has blessed. Thanks be to God who gives us triumph always in Christ Jesus
