Daily Feast – September 4

Revelation about your future supersedes your past experiences

For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath - Joshua 2:10-11

Although Rahab had an ugly past, she recognized the opportunity when the spies arrived at her home. She took courage and spoke well to the men. She has current information and she also had the correct revelation in comparison to the ten spies who had only information. When people have only information, they become ingrates because it takes the ability to think through to be grateful to God. Beloved whatever you see, you attract. Rahab took courage to be successful. She was more concerned about God than the people. It takes courage to be different; to be rich and to be knowledgeable.

Joshua 1:8 says “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”. That is why you must meditate consistently on God's word

Let’s also look at Psalms 69:4-5,30. “They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away. O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee. I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.”

You cannot stop people who want to hate you without a reason but no matter what they have done you must keep praising God. The more successful you are, the more people will criticize you. But God will defend you.

Jer.51:36 says “Therefore, thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will plead thy cause, and take vengeance for thee and I will dry up her sea, and make her springs dry.” Beloved having God with you is what matters in life. He knows how to protect your reputation. This we can see in the story of Jacob in the house of Laban.

Let’s see Genesis 31:7-10. And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me. If he said thus, the speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, the ringstraked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ringstraked. Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me. And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were rings raked, speckled, and grisled”. Laban changed his wages ten times until God transferred the wealth of Laban to Jacob because he acted on the revelation he had.

Prayer: Lord, I choose to hold on to your plans for my future than what has happened in my past. I receive the grace to abide by your instructions in Jesus Name.
