DAY 5 AM: Things that Will Activate Favour in Your Life – Rev Emmanuel Oset

God’s favourites are not chosen randomly by Him; His favourites choose themselves through the quality of decisions they make in their hearts, their commitment to excellence, and their refusal to live by excuses.

1. Stand Out Without Excuses Like Daniel

You possess far greater spiritual privileges, training, and resources than Daniel ever had in Babylon, so you must throw away all excuses and refuse to succumb to the lifestyle of the world.

But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank… Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.” — Daniel 1:8–9

2. Make Quality Decisions from the Heart

Radical, destiny enhancing decisions must come directly from your heart, as neither God nor Satan can force anything upon your life without your explicit consent and choice.

3. Aim for Exceptional Excellence

God is a God of absolute excellence who never settled for mediocrity, meaning your work, studies, and trade must be so exceptional that your quality advertises God’s favour without needing self promotion.

Unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” — Ephesians 4:7

4. Cultivate Practical Wisdom and Divine Order

Living wisely means prioritizing God’s musts over disposable tasks, maintaining a lifestyle of constant obedience, and teaching children to honor their parents so that favour rests upon the home.

5. Treat People Well and Cultivate Gratitude

Since God uses human beings to bring favour into your life, you must remain humble, treat people with respect, be a generous giver, and express constant gratitude rather than murmuring.

6. Make Prayer a Consistent Lifestyle

Rather than leaving prayer to chance or praying only when in distress, you must establish a disciplined daily prayer regimen that builds deep spiritual communion with God.

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house… and kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.” — Daniel 6:10

Call to Action

  • Purpose in Your Heart: Make an unshakeable, quality decision today to live untainted by worldly standards and stand out for God.
  • Pursue Mastery in Your Grace: Identify your God given area of grace, give yourself to continuous learning and training, and deliver outstanding quality in your work or studies.
  • Establish a Daily Prayer Regimen: Set fixed times every day to pray from your heart, turning prayer into an automatic lifestyle rather than a emergency measure.
  • Practice Active Gratitude and Giving: Intentionally express thanks to God and the people around you, while actively looking for practical ways to help others.

Questions for Meditation and Pondering

  1. What excuses have I been giving for my current spiritual or life condition that I need to throw away today?
  2. Am I operating in my true place of grace with a spirit of excellence, or am I settling for mediocrity?
  3. Is my daily prayer life a disciplined, intentional lifestyle or just an occasional reaction to problems?
